Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CTD) instruments for the OOI will be manufactured by Sea-Bird Electronics, a marine instrument development company in Bellevue, Washington. The CTD is a core oceanographic instrument, and provides detailed profile and time series data on the measured parameters conductivity, temperature and pressure, and more particularly the calculated values of salinity, density and sound velocity.
